Many years ago, my younger brother created a computer picture of the Titanic using Microsoft Paint using an old inherited PC running Windows 3.1. He was fascinated by it and I have to say he did an amazing job. Unfortunately the image was lost but time moved on and he discovered Photoshop…
I came across this video randomly today of a 97 year old ‘Grandpa’, a former typogrpaher who still uses Windows 95 & Microsoft Paint to create art. He is practically blind and has lots of patience and time to create his images. Despite having Macular Degeneration, he loves to use the computer as he has the ability to zoom in to work. His shading and textures just using pixels have an almost Impressionist / retro quality. His ‘paintings’ are amazing…
Placed on the ‘Jurassic Coast’ in the UK, visitors to the beach of Charmouth were greeted by a giant dragon skull.
The was a very clever marketing campaign from Blinkbox to promote the release of Game of Thrones Season 3. Dragons feature heavily in the show so for fossil hunters down by the seaside, this would be an epic find!
Could resist sharing this… Its absolutely spot on!

Love this campaign. I came across it randomly today. It features Doug Pitt, Brad Pitt’s not so famous younger brother. Whilst the likeness may be there, their lives couldn’t be more different and Virgin Mobile have used this as a clever campaign to promote superstar service to the ordinary people. It’s a pity the site for Doug has been superceded already by other Virgin offers but the videos are worth a watch simply for Doug’s deadpan delivery. He reminds me of Spike Jonze crossed with Val Kilmer. Ultimately though, a good sport.
Go on… Show Doug some ‘Like’ and help him reach cele-bro-ty status 🙂
Love this animated infographic about Social Media trends & marketing. Crazy to think how easy it is now to reach the mass population with your brand advertising. Though as with all internet marketing, your ideas have to stand out from the crowd!

Today I invested in a project by Kickstarter. I’m an official ‘backer’ of Spinpod… You ‘pledge’ your amount and if its successful in getting all its backing, then obviously you pay for your pledge.
Have never done this before but I thought it looked quite an interesting gadget. A very simple idea in principle, but one that might produce great effects (GoPro anyone 🙂 )

Found this site today and thought I would give it a try. Worth a short for some short snippets of work perhaps! A good idea in principle 🙂
