People Per Hour

Found this site today and thought I would give it a try. Worth a short for some short snippets of work perhaps! A good idea in principle 🙂

London Unveiled…

Came across this site from a ‘Like’ on my own WordPress blog. Really useful and informative guide to some of the areas off the beaten track in London. Well worth a browse.

Code Academy.org

I am not a coder… Never have been. I simply don’t have the brain. I think you either have a coding brain or you don’t. That said, I would love to learn more about it, if not to write it but to have a better understanding of it. In my line of work, its used everywhere… and it would be nice to know what some of the geeks (I mean Devs) are actually talking about.

I came across this site via a link to advertising campaigns (on Mashable). The ad features some well known people (Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg… Will.i.am??) talking about how they got into coding and how it changed their lives. I am not after something that profound, I simply want to rebuild my website and others in ways I understand. So when I delved deeper after watching the video, I came across Code.org which in turn led to a learning portal:

http://www.codecademy.com/

I’ve yet to play properly with it, but it seems a good resource for learning the basics & maybe more. And hell, if I finally DO understand code, I might invent the next Facebook!… Oh who am I kidding! 🙂

Useful resource for Android GUI’s

Quite often in my job we do mockups for mobile Apps. There are loads of PSD and vector resources for Apple products all highly rendered and polished but there aren’t that many for Android devices. Found this link today which has proved really helpful for a project am working on. Thanks to Speckyboy Design Magazine for sourcing them.
